Privacy & cookies

How we handle your data, in plain terms.

This page covers our privacy policy, our cookie notice, and your cookie settings, all together, so you only have to look in one place. It explains what KindaWear collects through this website (right now, mainly a waitlist sign-up), why, and the choices you have.

We do not currently use any analytics or advertising cookies. We do not collect payment details, and we do not knowingly collect special category data (such as health information) through this website.

How we use it and our lawful basis

  • Waitlist and launch emails. We email you about our launch, product news and early access only because you ticked the box asking us to. Our lawful basis is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), and these emails also rely on consent under PECR.
  • Latest developments emails. If you tick the separate box for these, we’ll also email you when we publish a new post. Lawful basis: consent.
  • The follow-up survey. If you choose to answer it, we use your answers to decide what to build. Lawful basis: consent (you chose to fill it in).
  • Replying to your emails. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in answering people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Running, securing and rate-limiting the website. Our hosting provider and Cloudflare Turnstile process technical data so the site works, stays secure and isn’t abused by bots or spam. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • [Analytics.] [We don’t use analytics yet. If we add it, we’ll ask for your consent first and update this notice.]

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Emails and unsubscribing

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe by emailing hello@kindawear.com. The two consent boxes on the waitlist form (launch emails, and Latest developments emails) can be withdrawn separately. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, under contracts that require them to keep it secure and use it only on our instructions:

ProviderWhat they doWhere data is held
SupabaseStores the waitlist database and survey responses[Supabase project region, e.g. London (eu-west-2)]
Cloudflare (Turnstile)Verifies you’re not a bot when you submit the waitlist form[Region — see Cloudflare’s own policy]
[Hosting provider, e.g. Vercel]Hosts the website[Region]
[Email inbox provider, e.g. Google Workspace]Receives emails you send to hello@kindawear.com[Region]
[Email marketing provider, if/when we use one to send waitlist emails]Sends launch and update emails[Region]

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, or if KindaWear’s business is sold or restructured.

International transfers

[If any provider stores data outside the UK:] Some of our providers may process data outside the UK, including in [the EEA / the United States]. When they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, so your data stays protected.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist data: until you unsubscribe, or [12 months after we launch / 24 months after you sign up] if you haven’t engaged with our emails, whichever comes first. After you unsubscribe we keep your email on a suppression list so we don’t email you again.
  • Survey answers: for as long as your linked waitlist entry exists.
  • Emails you send us: up to [2 years] after our last exchange.
  • Hashed IP / rate-limit records: automatically expire after 1 hour.
  • Server logs: [up to 30 days, per our hosting provider’s default].

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • have your data deleted
  • restrict or object to how we use it
  • receive your data in a portable format
  • withdraw consent at any time

To use any of these rights, email hello@kindawear.com. We’ll reply within one month. There’s usually no charge.

Keeping it secure

We use providers with appropriate security measures, limit access to the waitlist to people who need it, use encrypted (HTTPS) connections throughout, hash IP addresses before storing them, and verify form submissions with Cloudflare Turnstile to cut down on spam and abuse. No system is perfectly secure, but we’ll tell you and the ICO about a serious breach where the law requires it.

Children

Our website and waitlist are intended for people aged 16 or over, or with a parent or guardian’s permission, which the waitlist form asks you to confirm. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you think a child has signed up, contact us and we’ll delete their details.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy when what we do changes, for example when we start selling online. We’ll change the date at the top, and tell waitlist members by email about any significant change.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve used your data, please contact us first at hello@kindawear.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookie notice

Last updated: [date of publication]

Cookies are small files a website saves on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, are covered by this notice too.

Cookies we use

We currently use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work, plus cookies Cloudflare Turnstile sets while it checks you’re not a bot. These don’t need your consent, and you can’t switch them off in a banner, though you can block them in your browser.

CookieProviderPurposeTypeExpires
[cf_clearance / cf-turnstile, etc.]Cloudflare TurnstileTells real visitors from bots on form submitStrictly necessary[Session / per Cloudflare’s policy]
[Any security or load-balancing cookie set by the host][Hosting provider]Keeps the site secure and runningStrictly necessary[Session]

We don’t currently use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies. If that changes, for example if we add Google Analytics or a Meta or TikTok pixel, we’ll add them to this table and ask for your consent first, with a banner that makes rejecting as easy as accepting.

Your choices

Because every cookie we currently set is strictly necessary, there’s nothing to opt in or out of yet. Once we add any optional cookie, this section and the Cookie settings below will let you accept or reject it, and you’ll be able to change your mind at any time.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working, including joining the waitlist.
